Help Your Child Move From Overwhelm to Clarity

When learning, behavior, motivation, or school struggles feel confusing, you do not need more pressure.

You need a clearer way to understand what may be happening underneath the struggle — and what supportive next steps may look like.

Dana Zottoli helps parents understand the brain behind learning, regulation, and behavior so they can support their child with more calm, confidence, and direction at home and school.

CLARE-5™ MODEL | Brain-Based Learning Support

What Worked Before Is No Longer Working

You know your child is capable.

You just do not know what is getting in the way.

  • Maybe homework turns into tears.

  • Maybe your child shuts down, avoids schoolwork, argues, freezes, or says: "I CAN'T".

  • Maybe mornings feel exhausting.

  • Maybe teachers are sharing concerns, but you are not sure what they mean or what support your child actually needs.

You may be wondering:

  • Is this motivation, attention, anxiety, confidence, or something else?

  • Why do small tasks suddenly feel so overwhelming?

  • How do I help without increasing frustration?

  • What should I say to the school?

  • What does my child need from me right now?

You are not failing

Your child is not broken

Something needs to be understood more clearly.

Behavior Is Often a Signal,
Not the Full Story

You may have found yourself thinking:

“My child is smart, but something isn’t working.”

“Homework turns into a battle every night.”

“My child shuts down so easily.”

“I feel like I’ve tried everything.”

“School says everything is fine, but I know something is wrong.”

“I don’t know how to help my child anymore.”

The problem is not that you are failing as a parent.

The problem is that something important may not yet be fully understood.

Children communicate through behavior, withdrawal, resistance, frustration, and shutdowns.

What families notice on the surface may be connected to patterns involving:

Your child may be experiencing:

  • overwhelm

  • learning frustration

  • confusion

  • exhaustion

  • difficulty starting tasks

  • difficulty staying organized

  • loss of confidence

This is why generic strategies often stop working.

Children do not all learn, regulate, process, or engage in the same way.

When we begin by understanding the child more deeply — instead of only reacting to the behavior — support becomes more intentional, compassionate, and effective.

This is the foundation of Dana Zottoli’s CLARE-5™ Model — a brain-based approach focused on understanding how a child learns, responds, and experiences the world.

Understanding Changes Everything

When parents begin understanding what is happening underneath the struggle, everything begins to shift.

Children feel safer. Parents feel more confident.

And support becomes more effective — at home and at school.

From trying to “fix” the child

To understanding the child more deeply so we can support them more meaningfully

With the right support, parents can:

  • understand their child’s learning and emotional needs more clearly

  • reduce stress and power struggles at home

  • communicate with school more confidently

  • support focus, routines, and regulation

  • respond with more calm, clarity, and intention

  • help their child feel understood instead of judged

This is the foundation of Dana Zottoli’s CLARE-5™ Model — a brain-based approach designed to help parents better understand how their child learns, responds, and experiences the world.

What Is CLARE-5™?

CLARE-5™ is a proprietary neuroscience-informed model that helps parents better understand what may be happening underneath learning, behavior, emotional, or school struggles.

Rather than focusing only on what is happening on the surface, the CLARE-5™ Model helps parents begin to notice patterns, understand what may be getting in the way, and respond with greater calm, clarity, and confidence.

CLARE-5™ is not about “fixing” children.

It is about helping families understand children more deeply so support can become calmer, more connected, and more effective.

This is not about “fixing” your child.

At the heart of CLARE-5™ is a simple understanding:

When children feel safer, more understood, and more supported, they are often better able to learn, communicate, regulate, and engage.

As awareness grows, parents can begin responding with more calm, clarity, and confidence — and children can begin feeling more capable, connected, and supported.

How CLARE-5™ Helps Parents Move Forward

01. Understand Your Child

Notice what may be happening underneath the struggle.

02. Recognize Patterns

Begin identifying patterns connected to learning, regulation, attention, stress, communication, and school-related challenges.

03. Build Regulation & Confidence

Support greater calm, emotional regulation, and confidence.

04. Strengthen Connection

Respond in ways that support communication, understanding, and connection.

05. Move Forward With Clarity

Choose next steps that fit your child, your family, and the support needed across home and school.

Awareness → Regulation → Agency

At the heart of CLARE-5™ is a simple understanding:

When children feel safer, more understood, and more supported, they are often better able to learn, communicate, regulate, and engage.

As awareness grows, parents can begin responding with more calm, clarity, and confidence — and children can begin feeling more capable, connected, and supported.

Support That Feels Clearer, Calmer, and More Connected

When parents better understand what may be happening underneath the struggle, support begins to feel less reactive and more intentional.

Families often begin experiencing:

  • calmer communication

  • less tension at home

  • stronger emotional connection

  • clearer routines and expectations

  • more confidence navigating school support

  • strategies that better fit their child

  • more compassion for both their child and themselves

The goal is not perfection.

The goal is helping children feel more understood while helping families move forward with greater calm, clarity, and connection.

Meet Dana Zottoli

Founder of Inside LearningCreator of the CLARE-5™ Model

I created Inside Learning after years of supporting children, families, schools, and learning environments — while noticing one important pattern again and again:

Many children are struggling in ways that are not being fully understood.

Parents are often trying hard to help while still feeling unsure what their child actually needs. Children may communicate through overwhelm, frustration, avoidance, shutdowns, resistance, or emotional exhaustion — while many traditional responses focus on behavior or performance before understanding what may be happening underneath the struggle.

That realization became the foundation for the CLARE-5™ Model.

CLARE-5™ is my proprietary neuroscience-informed model designed to help families better understand what may be happening beneath learning, behavior, and emotional struggles — and how awareness, regulation, reflection, and connection can support a child’s growth across home, school, and everyday life.

My background includes more than 26 years of experience in education and learning support, a master’s degree in Education and Educational Leadership, and specialized training in Social Thinking, executive functioning, and emotional intelligence. This foundation allows me to help families better understand how children learn, respond, regulate, and engage with the world around them. At the heart of my work is helping parents slow down, connect the dots, notice patterns more clearly, and better understand what their child may need — without overwhelm, judgment, or unnecessary complexity.

I am not here to overwhelm families with complicated brain-based terminology.

My goal is to make learning and behavior easier to understand, so parents have practical support they can use in everyday life.

I am here to help parents feel:

  • calmer

  • clearer

  • more confident

  • more connected to their child

"Because when parents become more aware of the patterns beneath the struggle, support becomes more intentional, more connected, and more effective."

Inside Learning is grounded in a simple belief:

Before meaningful change can happen, we first need awareness. Understanding grows from there.

What Is Inside Learning?

Inside Learning is the broader educational framework and philosophy behind Dana Zottoli’s work.

It helps parents, educators, and learning communities better understand how learning, regulation, reflection, executive functioning, and connection shape a child’s experience at home, at school, and in everyday life.

The CLARE-5™ Model is the proprietary neuroscience-informed model that guides this work.

Inside Learning combines:

  • brain-based learning support

  • emotional understanding

  • regulation awareness

  • parent guidance

  • practical next steps

  • school-family collaboration

The CLARE-5™ framework was developed through this work to help parents move from confusion and reactivity toward greater clarity, connection, and confidence.

The goal is not perfection.

The goal is helping families feel:

  • calmer

  • more connected

  • more supported

  • more confident moving forward

And helping children feel:

  • understood

  • safer

  • more capable

  • more engaged in learning and daily life

Our advocate has been instrumental in supporting my son in obtaining the specialized academic and social-emotional services he needs to succeed. Through her knowledge, persistence, and collaborative approach, she ensured that my son’s unique strengths and challenges were clearly understood and appropriately addressed by the school team. The school district also acknowledged and commented positively on the instructional strategies and pedagogical recommendations she suggested for educators, including potential professional development opportunities to better support my son’s learning profile. Her dedication, professionalism, and student-centered advocacy have made a meaningful and lasting impact on both my son’s educational experience and overall well-being.
